Professor James Wirrell joined the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 2003 and has served as Associate Dean for Library Services since 2013. Before coming to McGeorge School of Law, he held positions in the law libraries at UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings College of the Law), the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and the University of Richmond. 
 
Originally from Canada, Professor Wirrell earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of British Columbia before completing his Juris Doctor (JD) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Prior to his legal studies, he earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Regent College, affiliated with the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Simon Fraser University. 
 
Professor Wirrell teaches Global Lawyering Skills I and II.
