Nasos Mihalakas
Athanasios (Nasos) Mihalakas joined the faculty at McGeorge School of Law as a Visiting Professor of Law in August 2026. Mihalakas teaches courses on Global Lawyering Skills and Property Law.
Mihalakas has been a law professor for over 15 years. Most recently, Mihalakas served as a Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law from 2020 to 2025. Over the years, he has taught courses on U.S. Common Law like Legal Research & Writing, Property Law, Contract Law, U.S. Procedure Law, and U.S. Public Law, as well as courses on international law like Public International Law, International Trade Law, International Commercial Law and International Environmental Law. He also taught business related courses, like Business Organizations, International Business, and Business Law to both law and business students. Finally, Mihalakas is passionate about international law moot court competitions, and has both coached and been a judge for all the major international law moot court competitions (Jessup, Vis, Stetson, Jackson, and ILOSMCC).
Prior to that, Mihalakas worked for 10 years in Washington, D.C. for the U.S. federal government, as a policy analyst for international trade and economic issues.
Mihalakas is also the Director of the Center for Federalism & Regional Integration, a volunteer collaborative academic research center of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER), that organizes conferences and advances collaboration among academics from around the world. His research focuses on federalism, regional integration, international environmental law, and climate change.
