Email Address:
Dr. Rajni Purewal, PT, DPT, MPH serves as a part-time Assistant Clinical Professor and Grant Coordinator of the HCAI Justice-System Involved Youth (JSIY) grant for the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at the University of the Pacific.
Dr. Purewal earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Sacramento, before going on to complete a Master of Public Health at the University of California, Davis, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Southern California (USC).
With a clinical career spanning acute rehabilitation hospitals to outpatient settings, Dr. Purewal brings deep, cross-disciplinary expertise in orthopedics, sports medicine, neurologic, and pelvic health physical therapy. Her breadth of experience reflects a commitment to meeting patients wherever they are in their healing journey — no matter how complex or nuanced their needs. Most recently, she channeled that passion into founding Restore and Redefine Physical Therapy & Wellness, P.C., a private practice built on the belief that exceptional care should be both personalized and empowering.
Beyond clinical practice,
Dr. Purewal is deeply committed to shaping the next generation of healthcare providers. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the same principles that guide her patient care: holistic and collaborative. She believes that when clinicians truly understand the whole person — not just the diagnosis — they become not only better practitioners, but genuine advocates for lasting health. To further devote to this philosophy, Dr. Purewal aims to incorporate case-based learning and clinical application of knowledge into each and every one of her courses.
Dr. Purewal's work is guided by a single conviction: that every patient deserves to feel fully restored in body and limitless in possibility. It is that same belief she carries into every classroom and mentorship, instilling in the next generation of clinicians not just clinical excellence, but the kind of whole-person care that defines truly exceptional practice.
