Rajvinder Bains
Dr. Rajvinder K. Bains, OTD, MS, OTR/L, CEAS, CBIS, CNS is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program at the University of the Pacific. She obtained her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) from Dominican University of California and her Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) from Temple University. During her OTD studies, she completed her Teaching in Higher Education Certificate. She brings more than 11 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, with expertise spanning acute care, outpatient neurorehabilitation, pediatric practice, and workers’ compensation rehabilitation. Throughout her career, Dr. Bains has provided occupational therapy services to individuals across the lifespan and demonstrates a commitment to evidence-based, client-centered care.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Bains has contributed to workplace health and safety initiatives through the provision of ergonomic assessments and injury prevention programs for employees. She holds advanced specialty certifications as a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist (CEAS), Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS), and Certified Neuro Specialist (CNS).
Dr. Bains is a recipient of the School of Health Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award, recognizing her dedication to academic excellence and her commitment to preparing future occupational therapy practitioners. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes active engagement, experiential learning, and the integration of foundational knowledge with clinical application. She is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that foster critical thinking, professional growth, and clinical competence.
Committed to community engagement, Dr. Bains incorporates service-learning opportunities into her curriculum, enabling students to apply occupational therapy principles while serving older adults and other community populations. Through these experiences, she encourages students to develop both clinical skills and a strong sense of professional responsibility and community service.

Dr. Bains has disseminated her scholarly work through presentations at local, national, and international conferences as well as professional workshops. Her research focuses on student confidence, interprofessional education, and the advancement of healthcare education.
