The Conservatory of Music at University of the Pacific invites you to the Pacific Percussion Day.
Join us for an exciting day of music making, conversations with percussion artists as well as educational sessions with Pacific faculty. This year, we are excited to introduce three clinicians: faculty members Jonathan Latta and Brian Kendrick, with guest artist Mike Nakamura.
A Zildjian Cymbals drum-set artist, Kendrick is a percussionist and prominent jazz educator based in California. His diverse performance portfolio includes Irish musical ensemble Celtic Woman, small jazz combos, modern big bands and Broadway Sacramento.
An accomplished percussionist, conductor, and music educator, Dr. Latta directs the Pacific Percussion Ensemble and the Pacific Pep Band while maintaining an active performance career, playing percussion and timpani with regional orchestras.
Known for her versatility across contemporary, orchestral and experimental music, Nakamura is an accomplished percussionist, timpanist, music educator and arts administrator based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
