This year, more than 225 faculty and staff across all three campuses were celebrated for their career milestones and their dedication to university of the Pacific at separate Years of Service Awards ceremonies. 

Honorees of the Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award, the Champion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award and the Podesto Award for Excellence in student life, mentoring and counseling were also announced. 

“The Years of Service celebration is a meaningful tradition at Pacific—an opportunity to recognize the dedication, talent, and impact of our faculty and staff,” Interim Chief People Officer Cari Keller said at the 2026 Years of Service celebration on the Sacramento Campus. “Each milestone represents not just time, but commitment to our students, our mission and one another.”

Podesto Award for Excellence in student life, mentoring, and counseling
The Gary Podesto Award for Excellence in Student Life Service and Mentorship is named for a former Pacific Regent and Mayor of Stockton. It is presented annually to Student Life staff members who make a positive difference in service to students.
